YES Rwanda Job Desk
YES Rwanda (Youth Employment Systems) Job desk is an on-line and physical Job search, advertisement and recruitment service aimed at enabling the youth in Rwanda to find the right kind of paying jobs. The Job Desk also provides employers with less costly means for job advertisements and recruitment.
Objectives of the Job Desk:
Enable Rwandan youth to find jobs;
Enable employers to have greater access to a better and more competitive workforce, high- quality demand-led services to fill job vacancies quickly and effectively with well prepared and motivated candidates;
Search for available jobs and linking applicants to the same hence enabling them to effectively compete in the labour market as they move into work;
Enhance continuously the accessibility and delivery of services to jobseekers;
Enhance effective labour supply by increasing the number of people taking up the right employment.
YES Rwanda Job Desk provides online services via its website www.yesrwandajobs.org as well as physical services where young Rwandans are given a CV form to complete and then the details are stored into the database for the future use. (Match them with available job vacancies).
www.yesrwandajobs.org is a website dedicated to Rwandan employers and jobseekers. It helps employers to post job adverts and search for CVs posted by jobseekers. Jobseekers are able to view job adverts posted by employers and also they can post their CVs. When a jobseeker post a CV, he/she is given options to view it, update it or delete it. The website also has a job alert system which let registerd users receive emails containing job adverts that are posted on the website.
YES Rwanda Business Incubator
Under the Business Incubator YES Rwanda provides the following services:
- Providing of office space at subsidized rental rates in Kigali - The office space will be a walk-in and work office with already furnished work-stations, front office and back office services.
- High-speed internet connectivity- The incubator will connect internet to all offices during working hours.
- Consultancy services, in areas such as business development, management, marketing, and legal among others. This for value-addition serves to counter the culture of outdated ways of doing business.
- Provide regular information on advertised tenders – Information about open tenders (from both the public and private sectors) will be sourced by the business centre and shared to all companies in the incubator.
- Business club networking- This will be done every first Tuesday of the month for business in the incubator to network over a cocktail afternoon and share ideas and find clients. Successful business will be used as role models to share with the incubatees their success stories.
- Work with service industries in Rwanda helping them integrate smaller businesses into their supply chains as suppliers and contractors.
- Arrange for business exhibition in Rwanda and across East Africa and develop partnerships with regional and overseas young entrepreneurs.
The duration of incubation for start-ups will be approximately three years but this will also depend on the level of needs of the incubated business or company, some can grow from a period of between a few months to three years. Incubatee companies then graduate and leave the incubator to go out to expand their businesses.
