The Micro-Enterprise Training (MET)
The Micro-Enterprise Training (MET) Project The MET Project is under the Youth Livelihood and Education Programme and runs from September 2010 to October 2011. It aims at developing a training programme which meets the needs of young entrepreneurs working in the informal sector in Kigali. The training will help the micro-entrepreneurs to expand their business, get registered in the formal private sector and get access to saving and credit services. In the long run it will secure the livelihood of both the entrepreneurs and their dependants. Strategy:
- Conduct a baseline survey about the needs and availability of the target group;
- Develop curriculum and training materials;
- Secure accreditation of curriculum;
- Test the curriculum with the target group;
- Training of Trainers;
- Execution of a pilot training;
- After corrections of the training, two other trainings will be executed;
- Frequent advocacy about the need for training for informal sector entrepreneurs;

YES Rwanda Job Desk
YES Rwanda (Youth Employment Systems) Job desk is an on-line and physical Job search, advertisement and recruitment service aimed at enabling the youth in Rwanda to find the right kind of paying jobs. The Job Desk also provides employers with less costly means for job advertisements and recruitment.
Objectives of the Job Desk:
- Enable Rwandan youth to find jobs;
- Enable employers to have greater access to a better and more competitive workforce, high- quality demand-led services to fill job vacancies quickly and effectively with well prepared and motivated candidates;
- Search for available jobs and linking applicants to the same hence enabling them to effectively compete in the labour market as they move into work;
- Enhance continuously the accessibility and delivery of services to jobseekers;
- Enhance effective labour supply by increasing the number of people taking up the right employment. YES Rwanda Job Desk provides online services via its website www.yesrwandajobs.org as well as physical services where young Rwandans are given a CV form to complete and then the details are stored into the database for the future use. (Match them with available job vacancies).
www.yesrwandajobs.org is a website dedicated to Rwandan employers and jobseekers. It helps employers to post job adverts and search for CVs posted by jobseekers. Jobseekers are able to view job adverts posted by employers and also they can post their CVs. When a jobseeker post a CV, he/she is given options to view it, update it or delete it. The website also has a job alert system which let registered users receive emails containing job adverts that are posted on the website.
